Multiple US states have passed laws prohibiting the display of “gay pride” flags supporting the LGBTQ+ community on and inside public buildings, such as government offices and public schools. Two bills in the Texas legislature would restrict the types of flags that can be flown in public schools and government buildings. The proposals appear tailor-made to exclude LGBTQ+ pride flags.
